Girls trip to Savannah and Hilton Head

Mandi (Eric’s sister) and I decided to start our weekend a day earlier than the other ladies. We woke up at what felt like the crack of dawn Denver time, 3 AM I believe it was… oh my, and landed in Georgia Friday afternoon. Starting off with a cab driver full of information about the areas, he dropped us off and we settled into The Brice Hotel then decided to head out and explore Savannah.  The Old Pink House was highly reviewed and also recommended by our cabbie but sadly it was packed so we decided to walk towards the river and go into the first place that looked interesting.  We ended up at a place called Wet Willies where we got some fun frozen drinks and continued to walk around River St..  We checked out a candy store for a sample of the areas famous pralines, which were delicious, & had to grab some seafood so we shared a snack of a delicious shrimp dish at a restaurant I sadly can’t remember the name of.

That evening Mandi and I had pre-booked a Creepy Pub Crawl which walked us around to the most haunted areas in Savannah. Sadly we weren’t very impressed and were exhausted from that aforementioned early flight, so once we passed our hotel during the tour we decided to skip the end and head to bed. Oh and by the way our hotel is supposed to be one of the most haunted places in Savannah!

 

We made it through the night with no ghost sights and Saturday morning explored the rest of Savannah going through their shops and sadly coming out empty handed. Deciding we needed as much time by the water as possible we booked a river boat tour before Marti (Eric & Mandi’s mom), and Lori (Eric’s step-sister) got to town. We had a wonderful lunch at Vic’s on the River and visited those candy stores again, yummy! Our last member Christi (Eric’s step-sister-in-law) finally arrived after a delayed flight and we were off to Hilton Head.

 

 

 

 

Marti found a wonderful suite for us at Marriott’s Grand Ocean  with a view of the ocean. Dinner at Chart House I tried scallops for the first time, I am in love. The restaurant had live music and was on the river facing the sunset, I highly recommend it if you are looking for a nicer place to have a meal or a romantic dinner in the area.

Sunday was spa day! All of us lades headed to Fountain Spa for messages and I was able to get a package with a facial, mani/pedi and body butter wrap as well. Oh my goodness it was wonderful and their staff was great. The mani/pedi wasn’t up to par with the rest of their services however I was surprised how much I loved the facial and body wrap. It was also my first experience with a heated massage table and let me tell you they are fantastic.

Finishing out our day with a private catamaran tour was a perfect ending to the trip. We had an entertaining captain, wine, snacks and some great bonding time.
